Summer Cooking

It's hot in New York. Really hot. And for those of us without proper air conditioning, cooking is pretty much out of the question. For the next few weeks I'll be featuring summer recipes from our collection of cookbooks. If you have your own favorite summer recipe, please share.

Librarian Libation

A game of hearts. Digital ID: 833776. New York Public Library

This is a very personal libation recipe. My friend Stacie introduced me to this drink years ago, and I've been enjoying it ever since. I never knew its proper name until I saw it listed among some other recipes at LeNell's Liquor Boutique in Red Hook, Brooklyn. She calls it The French Kiss.

Recipe:
Equal parts sweet and dry vermouth
Serve over rocks with a twist.

Happy Friday.
